Soil is where life begins. Soil is where food begins.
Keep it safe.
โSoil and Water is an essential symbiosis resource and a vital part of the natural environment from which most of the global food is produced. Soil and water itself contained millions of diverse life forms which are also crucial for plant health and growth, vital for human consumption and for life to flourish.โ
In Sekolah Sri UCSI Bandar Springhill Campus World Soil Day (WSD) is celebrated on December 5th to raise awareness of the importance of healthy soil and to encourage the sustainable management of soil resources. On World Soil Day, people are urged to think about managing soil resources sustainably. The primary objective of the day is to raise public awareness of the serious environmental problems, like erosion, organic matter loss, and decreased soil fertility, that can result from soil degradation.
In our school, we create the studentsโ awareness by doing fun activities during art class. Students bring their own soil from home. They made a poster of different colors of soil. Our students took part in painting creative soil paintings to represent the theme and awareness of soil. A massive shout-out to all those who took part in the World Soil Day competition, and a huge congratulations to the winners.
