United Nations Day, on October 24, marks the anniversary of the entry into force of the UN Charter in 1945. With the ratification of this founding document by the majority of its signatories, including the five permanent members of the Security Council, the United Nations officially came into being.
In Sekolah Sri UCSI, we celebrated UN Day on October 24th. Secondary students from Form 1 to Form 4 decorated their classes with the “Country of the Choice” theme. They choose one country from the UN member states and put information about that country in their classes. Students from Standard 1 to Form 4 participated in a poster-making competition to support the cause of United Nations Day, which was celebrated on October 24th. Through this activity, we are hoping to instill in our students the feeling of appreciating the value of living harmoniously and togetherness among nations. Therefore, we encourage them to express their support and views regarding various global topics such as racism, human rights, and unity among global members.
Our aim here at Sekolah Sri UCSI Springhill is to educate our students to be first-class global citizens who can adapt to the broadness of this world and make the world a better place for their future generation.
